From April 11–13, 2023 St. Petersburg hosted the International Exhibition and Forum for Pharmaceuticals and Biotechnology IPhEB Russia 2023.
The exhibition presented equipment and technologies for pharmaceutical production, research and testing centers, packaging materials for medicines, reagents and materials for equipping laboratories, services for registration of medicines, post-registration studies of drug safety. Among the participants were developers of active pharmaceutical ingredients and substances, global distributors of equipment and components for pharmaceutical production, outsourcing companies, exporters of phytomedicine and herbal supplements, companies engaged in the production of empty capsules, innovative research and development, plant-based cosmetic products, veterinary drugs and dietary supplements.
More than 80 companies from Russia, China, India, Germany and the Czech Republic took part in the exhibition on the area of about 2000 sqm.
The exhibition was attended by more than 3 000 specialists from 26 regions of Russia and 13 foreign countries: Belarus, Azerbaijan, Armenia, China, Croatia, Israel, Kyrgyzstan, Lithuania, Malaysia, Spain, Turkey, UAE, and Uzbekistan.
At the official opening ceremony, the participants and guests of the Forum were addressed by the rector of St. Petersburg State Chemical and Pharmaceutical University Igor Narkevich, the head of the department of organization of work of pharmaceutical institutions and enterprises of St. Petersburg Committee for Healthcare Olga Makhova, Head of Industry Development Department of St. Petersburg Committee for Industrial Policy, Innovations and Trade Daniil Kuzmin, President of St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vladimir Katenev, founder of X7 Research and X7 Clinical Research groups Sergey Siemeniv, President of Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs and General Director of ExpoForum-International Sergey Voronkov, Head of quality department of GEROPHARM Ivan Giba, Deputy Director General of product portfolio of VERTEX Svetlana Kopatko, Director of North-West region of ERCAFARM Irina Markovets, Deputy Director General of Long Sheng Pharma Rus Dmitry Konikov, Director General of RESTEC Exhibition Association Dmitry Nikitin.
Participants of the opening ceremony noted that IPhEB rightfully has the status of “the gem of industry events”.
The congress program of the IPhEB Russia 2023 included 18 events, which addressed topical issues of clinical research, quality control of medicines, highlighted current achievements and challenges in the creation of medicines, cosmetics and dietary supplements, discussed topical aspects of medicine supply for children, human resources capacity of the pharmaceutical industry, the regulatory changes in the industry, and the impact of digital technologies on business growth of pharmaceutical companies.
